Tonya Gastineau

LPC-A (Supervisor: Allison Hunter LPC-S)

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Christian Education from Gateway College of Evangelism (now Urshan College) and my Master’s degree from Liberty University. Over the years, I have gained experience working with people of all ages. I have worked with individuals and in groups through various opportunities including bible quizzing, youth ministry, children’s ministry, nannying, substitute teaching and now counseling. Working and volunteering in these various settings has been an amazing avenue to learn more about myself, others, and what it looks like to support people in highs and lows. My counseling experience thus far has allowed me to gain exposure to those who are enduring effects of childhood abuse, trauma, loss of parent or child, postpartum depression, self-esteem and identity issues. I want to build strong relationships with clients and understand their strengths and motivations better. If you need a safe space to talk, process, or get help with a specific issue, I will welcome you without judging. We can make a plan to help you achieve your goals. My main focus is to improve the well-being and satisfaction of all my clients. Understanding and meeting each person's unique needs is my top priority. In our sessions, we will work together to identify your strengths and empower you to use them for personal growth. I believe that recognizing and using your existing abilities is an important part of overcoming challenges and developing resilience. I am genuinely excited to see clients overcome their struggles and experience positive change.
