Shanna Boone

I have a Master’s degree of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am currently licensed by the State of Texas. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Human Services, certification in family and children counseling, and have been trained in Microbiology. I worked for about a year at the University of Texas as a Clinical Mental Health Therapist performing virtual and in-person counseling to students with various mental health issues. I interned for eight months at the Recovery Center in Brownsville, Texas, working with adults and adolescents with substance abuse. I also work alongside my husband, the Pastor of New Life Brownsville Church, as an advocate, support, and counselor, meeting the needs of various adults, children, and youth. I belong to the Golden Key Honors Society, Sigma Alpha Pi, the American Psychological Association, American Counseling Association, and I graduated with distinction. I have recently opened an individual practice in Brownsville, Texas, “Wholeness Clinical Mental Health Services,” My supervisor’s name is Leah Ellis, LPC-S. I am trained in CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, and other modalities. I have conducted individual and group counseling services for grief, anxiety, substance abuse, depression, PTSD, bipolar, domestic violence, schizoaffective, and many other concerns. I have worked with and helped many children/youths who cut, experience anxiety and depression, and have suicidal ideations. I counsel couples and family groups, refer out if their needs are out of my competence, and have spoken at several seminars.
