Michael Hennessey

Mike is a Licensed Counselling Therapist (LCT) with the College of Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick (CCTNB) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). As a member of Pabineau First Nation in the Province of New Brunswick, Canada, one of Mike’s passions is improving mental health in First Nations. He has furthered this personal and professional vision through his work with Indigenous youth and offenders in the region since 2016. As a clinician, Mike employs a person-centered approach while integrating aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy and trauma-informed interventions. In his practice, Mike provides cultural support for the staff as an Indigenous counselor with years of experience working with Indigenous youth at-risk. He facilitates regular case conferencing sessions with all service providers and is available to support clinicians as needed. Mike also coordinates professional development opportunities for his clinical team.
