Maritza Garcia


Maritza Garcia graduated in 2012, with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from Hope International University in Fullerton, California. Prior to her undergraduate studies, Maritza spent several years as a Principal and Administrator for a private school in Chicago, IL, while studying, writing, and teaching biblical doctrines. She worked extensively with families and students, mentored and developed young leaders, and served as a valuable liaison between the school, the community, and the students. Maritza graduated with her Master of Science (M.S.) in Counseling, from Southern Methodist University, in 2016. She completed the State of Texas requirements to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), which included a 300-hour practicum, completion of a graduate degree in counseling, a passing grade on the National Counselor Exam (NCE) and the Texas Jurisprudence Exam, and 3,000 hours of supervised internship. She is also provisionally licensed as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern (LCDC-Intern). She has assumed the ownership of Concierge Counseling Service, Inc., an established, private practice founded in 2009. In 2016, Maritza began a PhD program at Capella University in Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology to expand the scope of her practice. She is currently working and developing her dissertation studies, and looking forward to graduating in 2021. Maritza has written for various columns and magazines and in 2019, she led a team in the design of a pilot curriculum for a college, distance-learning program. She serves as a community liaison in Euless, Texas; she is a member of the Center for Apostolic Counselors; she is a member of the Pi Lambda Theta National Honor Society; and her consistently high GPAs have been recognized on Dean’s and President’s Lists. Her passion is working with trauma victims, suicidal prevention, and a range of mental health issues involving pre-teen to adult clients. Her past experience, training, and commitment will continue to guide all future professional endeavors.
