Dr. Elissa Jarvis is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with Rawles Psychological Services, a community-oriented group practice that specializes in providing trauma-informed care for diverse populations. She is also a pastor’s wife who is currently involved in a daughter work church plant. As a psychologist, her goal is to meet people where they are and foster hope in their ability to heal and grow. Dr. Jarvis also seeks to provide counseling services that are based in both biblical principles and scientific evidence.
Dr. Jarvis obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University, and she received her Master of Arts and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Regent University. Dr. Jarvis completed her dissertation on the practice of cultural humility in therapy, and she is passionate about providing culturally sensitive services with individuals who often fall through the cracks of mental health care.
Dr. Jarvis has worked in a variety of mental health settings, including a correctional facility, a group practice, and a Christian-based outpatient clinic. She also completed an APA-accredited internship at the Coatesville VA Medical Center, and she enjoys working with veterans in the community.
Dr. Jarvis is especially interested in serving adults and adolescents with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and psychotic disorders. She has experience with providing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Metacognitive Therapy (MCT) for anxiety, Prolonged Exposure (PE), Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy (CT-R), and Motivational Interviewing. She also offers treatment that is informed by Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). In addition to offering psychotherapy services, Dr. Jarvis conducts psychological evaluations to clarify diagnoses, determine appropriate recommendations, and provide education about mental health recovery.
Dr. Jarvis is currently licensed in the state of Virginia and is able to provide virtual therapy, as appropriate. Dr. Jarvis is approved to work through PsyPact and is able to offer therapy for clients who are located in PsyPact approved states. She can also accept private-pay clients.
